About us

The Octopus' Beer Garden is a special place that started as a dream for the Halaas Family. From 2001-04, Chef Bob and his hardworking team, including his wife Tonia, and his father-in-law Jim and his late wife Kathy, collaborated to turn an old riverfront spot called The Captain's Landing into a restaurant. After returning in 2017, they were able to transform it to a place where you can sit back , relax and enjoy - officially opening as The Octopus’ Beer Garden in 2019!

We have a huge selection of different beers to try and a tasty homemade food menu, crafted by Chef Bob for every season.

Our daughter, Kayla, supported by her husband Mark, is a big part of making sure everything runs smoothly. She works hard in all facets of the restaurant including the kitchen, just like our talented sons, Robert and Nicholas. Our daughter-in-law Jessica excels in keeping the gardens looking great.

Our family has grown with two sweet little boys and a baby girl, and we're all really happy to be a part of this special place. We can't wait for you to come visit us and have a great time here with your loved ones.
